8th Conference
“The Future of Care” – Digital Transformation: Smart, Secure, Confident!
March 3–4, 2026 | Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences, Nuremberg
The sustainable transformation of the healthcare system, and nursing care in particular, poses complex challenges for professional practice, science, politics and society. Digitalisation in nursing care is not an end in itself, but a decisive lever for sustainable nursing care: it offers opportunities for relief, quality assurance, participation and new care models – but it also requires critical examination of issues of security, sovereignty and meaningfulness.
The 8th conference of the Future of Care Cluster focuses on the topic of ‘Digital transformation: smart, secure, sovereign!’ and sees these challenges as a shared mission: How can digital transformation in nursing care be made sustainable, responsible and innovative? What technological, organisational and ethical impetus is needed to make care structures more resilient, humane and efficient? How can nursing care practice itself become an active co-creator of this change?
The conference provides a forum for interdisciplinary ideas, critical discourse and concrete solutions. It brings together practitioners, academics, technology developers and policymakers with the aim of jointly shaping the digital future of nursing care in a way that serves people – smart, secure and confident. We cordially invite the interested (professional) community to participate in the 8th conference ‘The Future of Care – Digital Transformation: Smart, Secure, Confident!’ and to actively shape it with their expertise, experience and perspectives.
Nursing care is at the centre of profound changes. This makes it all the more important for stakeholders from practice, science, education, technology and politics to work together to develop innovative ideas for sustainable, digitally supported nursing care.
Main topics of the 8th conference are as follows:
- Technological innovations in nursing care, in particular AI, telecare, wearables
- Competence development in the context of digital transformation
- Financing and law
- Ethics and society in the course of digitalisation in nursing care
- Knowledge transfer and implementation
- Best practices from the international environment
Submissions via the Abstract Submission Tool is now possible. The submission period ends on 27 October 2025.
